I am very happy and proud that Valentina Consiglio will present our joint work on „Policy Information and the Attitude towards Asylum Seekers“ at the MPSA Annual Conference 2018. In the paper, we used two online survey experiments to assess the framing effects of policy information on the attitudes towards asylum seekers. Our results show how even communications of apparently ‚dry‘ information about policy decisions can influence attitudes. I am especially proud because the paper is based on Valentina’s Bachelor Thesis for which she conducted the first experiment. She finished her Bachelor last spring and in the meantime we conducted the second experiment together. The new results helped us to gain a (first) better understanding of how different individuals might be prone to different frames. Definitively, research we need to continue.
